A journalist, freelance writer and talented photographer, Rogério lives in Curitiba in southern Brazil. He finds inspiration for his photo haiga in the beauty of the landscape and culture that surrounds him.
Rogério has been writing haiku since 1992, publishing a book of his writings, “Trinta Toques” in 1999. In 2002 he became interested in haiga and since then has appeared in World Haiku Review, in Sumaúma Haicai (Kapok Tree Haiku) and in the World Haiku Association's monthly haiga contests. Earlier this year, forty of his works were featured in an exhibition "Haijin Digital – Novos caminhos do haiga" at Japan House in Curitiba.
We are pleased to welcome Rogério with these three photo haiga set in the Joaquina dunes in Santa Catarina States, southern Brazil, and the beaches of Ceará State in the northeast of Brazil. More can be seen on his blog(http://haigasdorogerio.blogspot.com) and his online photo album (http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c199/RogerioViana/Photo-haiku/).
