another spring
just enough breath left
for the dandelion

This haiku won a strong Third Place not because it shows us 'spring', but because it actually shows us 'autumn', metaphorically-speaking. Here is a person in the autumn-of-their-years with just enough breath left for one more dandelion. The juxtaposition of old age and something most of us probably did in our youth (blowing puff balls off the stem), is also quite good. Thanks to Angelee for submitting this fine haiku, congratulations.---an'ya, editor
