kirsty karkow

kirsty lives on the coast of Maine, and in Maryland before that.  She has at times been a competitive 'dressage' rider, an instructor in 'Tai Chi', and a sculptor in stone and clay.  Active outdoors, and with hospice, kirsty is married to Ed, and they have two grown children.  Writing Asian poetry is a consuming interest which she feels has made her more aware of each day's individual moments, and given her the ability to appreciate them more fully.  Her haiku have been published in the USA, Canada, England and Japan.  Kirsty has won the R H Blyth Award in 2002, and the Mainichi Award in 2003.  She is also a mentor at WHCbeginners.
