Wessex: Found Haiku
in Thomas Hardy's Writing

Artist's Statement:

I used Thomas Hardy's poems and stories for my source. Hardy has always appealed to me because of the realistic way he creates characters and landscapes. Although his Wessex is an imaginary area, it could have been a real place habited with real people. The words and phrases for each haiku are not is consecutive order. In each particular poem or story I used a word here, another word there, a phrase here etc. It may take some looking through the source poem or story to find my choices.
