COMING UP IN HAIGAONLINE . . .

HAIKU THIS HAIGA FOR OUR JUNE 2012 ISSUE

In the Traditional Haiga section we've just published another painting by resident artist Mary Rodning. The deadline for submissions to poem it is 30 August 2012. Include "Haiku this Haiga December 2012" in your subject line and email it to me, Linda, at the following address:

If your poem is chosen, it will be translated into Japanese by Hiromi Inoue and rendered in calligraphy by Shisen. Jasminka will make the haiga, and Choshi will compose bamboo flute music to accompany it. The completed haiga will be featured in our December 2012 issue.

HAIGA CHALLENGE FOR OUR DECEMBER 2012 ISSUE:
THE SUN!

Join us in the December issue by creating a haiga on the topic of "sun". For those of us in the northern hemisphere this will be the Winter sun, but if you're in the Southern hemisphere and it's summer for you, or if the spirit takes you, write, depict or express the sun in any season you choose. Let's see how many ways we can find to explore its nature and effect on our lives.

The deadline for submissions is 22 September2012. Include "Haigaonline--Summer Activities Challenge" in your subject line and mail to me, Linda, at the following address:
