AUBRIE COX

Aubrie was introduced to haiku in the spring of 2008 when she took a course with Randy Brooks at Millikin University. She is now a graduate student in creative writing at Ball State University, and her haiku and tanka have been published in Modern Haiku, The Heron’s Nest, bottle rockets, Acorn, Frogpond, tinywords, Eucalypt, Moonbathing, Sketchbook, Prune Juice, Chrysanthemum, haijinx, mango moons, Shamrock, Presence, Kokako, Atlas Poetica, and Notes From the Gean. In addition, she has been featured in Blogging Along Tobacco Road and is serving as a guest editor at haijinx. Her haiga—solo and collaborative—have appeared in Haigaonline and Notes from the Gean. A couple more can be found on her Yay Words and Writing Portfolio blogs at Wordpress, and she also maintains a portfolio called "teasaftertaste" at deviantArt, where clicking on a butterfly photograph from the same series as the one here, led me to an account of the photo shoot and marvelous haiku about swearing at butterflies.
